Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

These terms apply to the CanUeat app and website (canueat.com, app.canueat.com). By using CanUeat you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What CanUeat is

CanUeat is an informational assistant for people with food allergies: a translatable allergy card and an AI-based dish and menu checker. It is a convenience tool, not a safety device.

Not medical advice. CanUeat does not provide medical, dietary or legal advice. AI answers are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or outdated. Ingredients, recipes and cross-contamination practices vary between kitchens.

Always confirm ingredients directly with restaurant staff, always carry your prescribed medication, and consult your doctor or allergist about managing your allergies. In an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

You remain solely responsible for what you eat. We are not liable for allergic reactions or other harm resulting from reliance on the app.

2. Your data stays on your device

CanUeat has no accounts. Your allergy list and settings are stored locally on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Pro purchases

4. Refunds

If you paid but Pro was not activated, or the service is unusable, contact us within 14 days of purchase at [email protected] and we will fix it or refund the payment.

5. Acceptable use

Do not abuse the service: no automated scraping of the AI endpoint, no attempts to bypass limits, and no use of the AI chat for purposes unrelated to food and allergen safety.

6. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version is always at canueat.com/terms.html. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
